This Is The Only Trip That Matters For Pokémon Go In 2026

Pokémon GO turns 10 years old this year. There will be great events, there will be Go Fest, there will be bonuses.

But there's only one place on Earth where Pokémon isn't just a game — it's woven into the culture, the streets, the history itself.

Japan is where it all started. The real-world Pokémon region. The place where the original 151 came to life. And you're going to play there during the biggest anniversary in the game's history.

You'll catch regionals that don't spawn anywhere else on the planet. You'll walk into Pokémon Centers - and grab merch you literally cannot buy back home. You'll spin PokéStops at shrines, temples, and landmarks & send home postcards unlike anything in your collection.

But here's what makes this different from just flying to Japan solo:

You're doing it with 20 people who get it. Who understand the excitement of catching a shundo. Who will actually show up for Raid Hour. Who want to trade regionals from every corner of the globe and walk away with Pokémon you'd never get in your hometown.

You'll raid legendary bosses with a full lobby of trainers you trust. You'll coordinate lucky trades over dinner. And Yes, You'll try to hit lucky friends with Daxi himself.

There's no "maybe I'll go to Japan someday."

This is GO Fest before GO Fest. The 10-year anniversary in the birthplace of Pokémon. With the best group you could possibly play with.

After May 17th, this exact trip is gone. You can visit Japan another time. You can play Pokémon GO another day. But you can't recreate this — the timing, the group, the moment when everything aligns.

But Why Japan?

I've hit Community Days across three continents. I've raided at major events with thousands of players.

After 500,000 subscribers and 4 years playing this game daily, I thought I'd seen everything Pokémon GO had to offer.

Then I went to Japan for GO Fest 2024.

I flew in alone — no crew, no plan, didn't speak the language. Honestly? I was nervous. This was further from home than I'd ever been, and I wasn't sure what to expect.

But the second I hit the streets, everything changed.

Raid lobbies were full at every gym. Players everywhere — coordinating, trading, hunting shinies. The energy was constant.

I caught regionals I'd never seen. Raided all day in full lobbies. Walked through Sendai and Tokyo with my phone out, realizing that Pokémon GO in Japan isn't just different — it's what the game was always supposed to feel like.

This trip isn't just me showing you my favorite spots. It's me bringing 20 of you into the experience that changed how I see this game — so you're not watching from the outside, you're there, catching with me.

You won't be going alone. You'll have a group who gets it, a guide who knows the best places & language, and me making sure every raid, trade, and shiny hunt is coordinated.

Japan is the best place in the world to play Pokémon GO. And I want you there with me when it matters most.

"Dax and Poké Mama were amazing hosts. They are a blessing to the Pokémon Go community and extremely helpful throughout our trip in Japan. It would be hard to go with anyone else ❤️"

- Cody Simmons

"Dax (and his Mom) were amazing.... they were kind, fun, and inclusive of everyone. Everyone had such a good time and I felt as though we were all friends right away! They made everyone feel comfortable from the beginning - there was never any "awkward moments" and no one felt like a "stranger" at anytime."

- Tom & Regina Bean

"Both Dax and Poké Mama were so welcoming and happy that everyone came. They both always tried beyond their best to make sure everyone had a good time. Even for me that has English as a second language, they made sure I was comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to travel with them again somewhere."

- Rasmus Strand

"I have been on two different trips hosted by Daxi. Both times to Japan, some of the absolute best times I have ever had and by far, the best trips I have taken! Meeting so many like minded PoGoers while getting to travel is such a unique experience. I made life long friends on these trips, I will definitely be going again in the future!"

- Joshua Daniels

"Dax and Christel were an absolute delight. I was struck by how they effortlessly connected with each person, sharing a memorable moment with everyone. I truly cherish the time we spent together, and I’m grateful to have been a part of their first japan trip. I hope to see them again in the future, perhaps on another Pokémon adventure!"

- Roldaniel Jimenez

"My experience on the PokeDaxi Japan trips were the best experience I could have ever asked for. It was the perfect opportunity for me to break out of my shell and explore a new world, just like you would in the world of Pokemon. It was an adventure of a lifetime and I would HIGHLY recommend any Pokémon GO player to take that leap and join a wonderful community in travelling abroad. You will NOT regret it"

100% refundable. If Daxi hasn't confirmed your spot yet, you can cancel anytime for a full refund.

91+ days before the trip (spot confirmed):
You'll receive a future Trova Trip credit for your down payment amount (minus a $100 cancellation fee per traveler). This credit is valid for one year. Any payments beyond the original 25% down payment will be refunded to your original payment method.

90 days or less before the trip:
Non-refundable. At this point, hotels are booked, activities are locked in, and your experience is already in motion with our local partners.

Airport transfers aren't included, but you have two options:

Book through Trova Trip:
The trip operators offer hassle-free hotel transfers when you book your spot. This takes the stress out of navigating a new city right when you land.

DIY it:
Japan's public transit is incredibly simple, and metro staff are always happy to help. If you want the adventure of figuring it out yourself, it's totally doable.

Yes! The itinerary includes built-in free time to explore on your own. If you ever see something you want to check out, you're welcome to break off and meet back with the group later.

This is your trip -- we want you to experience Japan your way.

Japan has traditionally been challenging for vegan, vegetarian, and other dietary restrictions -- but it's getting better every year.

On past trips, our local guide has been amazing at finding alternative options, and more restaurants are offering meals that accommodate dietary needs. We can't guarantee every included meal will work for every restriction, but we'll do our best to help you find options when you have free time.

Note: For the included group meals (6 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 3 dinners), Japanese cuisine frequently contains animal products and gluten. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and shellfish-free diets cannot be accommodated for these specific meals.

All spots include double occupancy (shared rooms) in 4-star hotels.

Want your own room?

Private rooms are available for an additional fee on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited availability -- if you want solo space to recharge between adventures, let us know early.

Maybe -- it depends on your country of origin.

38% of countries don't require a visa to enter Japan. If you're from one of these countries, you just need to fill out your travel plans on Visit Japan Web before you land.

Check your country's requirements:
Look up whether you need to request a visa from Japan based on your passport. Each country has different entry rules, so it's worth confirming early.

This trip is for anyone who loves Pokémon GO.

We're an inclusive, non-judgmental community of trainers of all ages and play styles. Hardcore or casual -- you're welcome here.

If you’ve made it to the bottom of this page, chances are you really want to go on this trip, but something’s holding you back. And I get it. Japan feels like a big trip…

But here's the thing — if there's ever a year to do this, it's 2026.

Pokémon GO turns 10 this year. It's the 30th anniversary of Pokémon itself. And GO Fest in Japan is going to be the biggest one yet.

This isn't just another trip — this is the year for anyone who actually loves this game. If you've been playing since launch, if you've ever thought "I want to experience Pokémon GO in Japan"

This is that moment.

I'm not trying to convince you to do something you don't want to do. But if you've been sitting on this idea for months (or years), and you've been waiting for the right time... this is it.

You won't have to figure anything out. The hotels are booked. The guide knows the city. The itinerary is set. You literally just show up, and we'll take care of the rest.

And you won't be doing it alone. You'll have 20 people who get it.

If you're on the fence, just ask yourself this: A year from now, are you going to wish you went?
